Default Horn Placement

I'd like to move my side mounted horn,

And move it to the front.

My question is, is it just a matter of mounting the new horn up front and plugging in the wires? Or will I have to rewire the whole set up?

That all depends on how much wire you have. If it will reach, then just reroute it to the front. But, I would assume that the wiring for the horn is within the main harness that runs along under the tank, and there isn't much slack. You will need to get two pieces of wire and connect them to the wires connected to the horn and route them to the front and secure them to the harnesses with black zip-ties. Mount your horn and hook the new wires to the horn.

I can stand the one I have..... so far. You can see it up on the front tank bolt. I like the slotted case cause it matches my air cleaner cover. If I didn't like it as much, the best place to mount a horn is on the very bottom of the bike out of sight.

NC883 - main reason I'm replacing my current horn is it's on the fritz. So it would be a bad trade for you.

The other reason is I can't stand looking down and seeing the horn cover vibrate like crazy.

Freebird - what type of horn do you have?

gpsjr10 - just checked the wire, it's a few inches short. Thanks for the input.

That should have a picture of the Road Runner on it, not the Harley-Davidson Shield.

not necessarily. I replaced mine cause it sounded "weak" but the new one sounds no different to me. Used to my truck horn I guess.
