As stated earlier double check the swing arm bearings, rear wheel bearings, rear tire condition and the shocks, if loose or worn out, and the rear brake rotor for being out of round and glazed spots on the rotor, this will cause the pads to grip and release as the rotor goes around, I have after market front disc brakes on my '02 PT Cruiser and they have done this, caused by improper "setting" of the brake pads, you might also want to check the front brake rotor for the same thing.
Hope this helps.

Thanks all for the advice. I'm using the stock 06 wheel. I shall go to my mech and tell him to check for the following

front wheel bearings, rear wheel bearings, both rotor, swingarm bearings. Anything else?

Anyway my whole front wobbles, not just the handlebar. However my friend who was there driving behind while I was touring with my mates felt that the handlebars were the problem. However he is not a mech specialise for Harleys. I'll head down to his shop and voice it out to him. Really love my apes and hope that I can keep it and ride up to Phuket bike week next year.

My first question to you is...are you running a front fender???
If not you may want to fit a forkbrace on your bike.

Where are the neck bearings and what is the fall-away?

My front fender is mounted. So that shouldnt be the cause.

..the movement in the neck bearings when properly adjusted. Google it or do a forum search and you will get results.

Another thing to check that came up in another similar thread was fork oil/springs.

When I occasionally open my Iron up to about 150kph it is steady as a rock, no wobble at all. Of course the wind can always be a factor in moving your bike around at any speed.

Does the diagnosis of all my problems come up to this? And is it important to get it checked by a mech specialise in Harley bikes only, or am I okay with going to a general mech who does some Harleys as well?
