Shoei Qwest or RF--1100
I'm just about ready to purchase one of the helmets listed above in the next week. Just wondering if any of the sportster riders here has any experience with them. I'd be doing 20 minute commutes during the week and 2-3 hour rides on weekends. Maybe a longer ride a couple times a year. Mainly want your input on ventilation, fogging, comfort, stability at speed. Thanks for any input you can provide.

If you have a Shoei head, they make a great helmet. My head doesn't fit in their helmets right. That said, since you mentioned anti-fogging, I can highly recommend the Scorpion EXO 1000. The salesman told me they have the best anti-fogging shield in the FF lineup, and I believe him. I have never had this shield fog on me. It probably is a little noisier than the Shoei, but the liner is quality and the cheek pads have air bladders that make them adjustable for a comfortable fit.

After recently coming off a race bike to a sportster I have few helmets. I have a Shoei RF1100 and a Scorpion EXO 1000. The Scorpion was the first and it has some goods with bad's. The goods are the air bladders which can help with fit and wind noise. It also has built in sun shades which can be handy at times, the anti-fog shield is nice but not the best. The bad's on the EXO is it's heavy and some what like a bobble head. The first detente on the shield is right at eye level and annoying if you like to ride with the shield up a little. Ventilation is not that good.
The Shoei RF1100: The bad, Price$$$. The Good, You get what you pay for. Ventilation is incredible. It feels small on your head, Very quiet, good anti-fog, Several shield positions, optional cheek pads to customize fit. I'm biased cause I had a RF200 a long time ago.
The higher end FF helmet shells are made in various sizes for different size heads, thus the price. A lot of manufacturers make one shell size and fill the inside with foam and padding to reach the head size. Hope this helped. Good luck!

I bought a Quest about two months ago.It feels light and it vents very well in Floridas 90+ day rides. You have a total of 4 vents to open to achieve this. The shield adjustment system is very good at stopping unwanted air noise and the pin lock shield system is good for quick shield changes.Fit and finish are top notch.A pricey helmet to be sure, but the quality is there.

I have the Shoei RF-1100 and it's very comfortable. Plenty of ventilation and good peripheral vision. Unless it's a really hot day, I wear the Shoei all the time even though I originally bought it only for cold weather/rain conditions. I like the lack of wind noise.
As for expense, well, I found mine at a local indy for $269. In comparison to some of the other better helmets, I don't feel that's exorbitant. I think my head is worth at least that much, just for the rocks in it.
