Default Iron plate mount

So I ordered a axle plate mount, did not realize it but the stock side plate is part ot the fender... Kinda, so if I remove it there will be a gap between the fender and the fender strut when looking at it from the side. Anyone removed the stock plate mount? Does it look ok?

Yeah, there'd be a gap. But that's what angle grinders are for. Chop the unnecessary stuff off and put back what you need.

Haven't seen one, thinking I will get another reflector from the right side and see if I can make that work as a filler panel on the left. I will cut the reflectors off of course, trying to keep the stock plate mount in one piece so it can be sold 

Just remove it all. The gap isn't that bad. I don't mind it anyway.
