Default Tools, Torx, Torx+???

I am not a mechanically inclined person, did wrench on big mowers when I did lawn care back in the day. I can turn a wrench, just not a ton of faith in myself. I do have the manual and want to start doing some of my own stuff.

Can anyone tell me what tools I need? I have the basics, sockets, wrenches and the norm, what about the torx, or torx+ bits?

Any insight or links would be appreciated.

Torx bolts are awful .... I replaced all of them in my Sporty with either Allen / Hex heads... shock absorbers attached to the frame with Torx bolts ?... whahh ? u kiddin' me?...

Warrick.. as stated before... good quality Torx bit set is a good idea... same goes with Allen bits... try to get the most complete set you can find... sure.. they cost more... but it is going to save u time and money in the long run... a medium sized torque wrench is important!.. specially if you are going to work on the cases (primary, cams. etc)... I bought a couple from Harbor Freight and the are ok (when you work with the torque wrench... make sure you don't confuse INCH- Lb with FOOT-Lb )... and make sure you follow the procedures in the service manual !!!!..

Awesome, that looks to be a much better deal.

I really appreciate the feedback all, looking forward to doing some of my own work over the winter.

Just an FYI, but a Posi Torx (Torx+) bit willdo both Torx and Torx + bolts. They are not quite as strong though, since they are not as solid.
Incidentally, the irony is that they are called "Torx", yet they they are the worst fasteners for torquing. Grim.
