HOLY @#$% Cycle Shack slip ons!!!
#42
I put cycle shack slip ons on my 2013 1200c and wow! Couldn't agree more with what has been said about them for the money you pay. I have about 8500 miles on my bike and have a 160 commute on the interstate 3 days a week.
At 80 mph they level out nicely. I do wear a full face or my bell rogue helmet on the highway so I have noise protection but don't think you need it even when cruising around town.
I have a buddy who had Python Mamba slip ons and those are the only pipes I've heard that sound better than the cycle shack slip ons. The pythons are equally as loud but have a bit of a lower tone which I prefer.
IMO best bang for your buck modification you can make to your bike for under $200.
Make sure you order new gaskets when changing out slip ons just in case the stock gaskets get shredded during removal.

I left mine on. I apologized to the neighbors before I started it up the first time. I can only imagine the sound of these without baffles!

Definitely want to use your lubricant of choice to help remove the stock mufflers. I actually loosened the nuts at the flange which have me a little more wiggle room to remove the stock mufflers after loosening the other exhaust clamps.
If you didn't order replacement interconnect gaskets (~$3.50 ea) be careful not to crush those during removal.
The install is much easier than the removal. Don't forget to wipe off all the finger prints and lubricant before firing it up and letting it get too warm.
One of the best mods for the money....let us know how it goes.
