Default yes! 2000 XL1200S Finally!

Hey,

I rode sport bikes since I was 15, recently got bored of them, (Im 28) and picked up a 2000 sportster 1200 with 5,700 miles on it for 2800 bucks! killer deal I think anyways, it has busted mirrors, needs a new speedo sensor, but other than that the bike is bone stock. I have only putted around the block, but I intend to customize this thing.....I love it, glad I made the switch....

Right on. Since it's an "S" model it should have the dual plug heads, right?

Yes, it does have the dual plugs, do you know the reason for this? I was looking for the ignition module, but I can only find the two plug ones...

I am planning on getting these pipes off ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CHROM...#ht_1726wt_921

does any one know what I should rejet the carb to? I believe the stock jet is a 45 180/185...what would I have to go to if I ran these pipes?

The 4 plug modules are hard to find, I'd watch EBAY you still see one on there from time to time.

Putting those pipes on a 1200S is an oxymoron. You'd be way farther ahead to get a real good set of slipons, if your are looking for performance that is.

You're going to lose a lot of "oomph" with those drag pipes, particularly in the mid range. Like jag1886 said, get a good set of slip-ons - maybe SE II's with Big City Thunder Baffles. Great sound and a slight performance boost!
