Default Proper Petcock Flow

I was curious what should the flow from a petcock be like anyone know of a video showing it. I know mine has crapped out but I need to know the correct flow. Should it be a nice steady stream coming out of a 1/4in inside diameter hose. or should it barely be coming out. I had mine draining and it drained very little I took it apart cleaned it up and it was flowing really good filter screen was clean. Test drove it still having problems drained it again and it was barely draining. I had the cap off of the tank while draining. I do not think mine is OEM I think it is aftermarket no vacuum line on my year. Just wanted to see what the proper flow should look like. I have a new one on order. I have a carb model not EFI.
TIA

Should be clean steady flow, could be your tank liner is coming apart, if so it will just clog the new one.

This isn't real scientific, but here's how I would judge the fuel flow.
Assume you're running 80mph into a head wind and only getting 40 MPG. That means you'll need to flow 1 gal every 30 minutes, or 1 quart every 7.5 minutes.

Hook your petcock up to a piece of fuel hose and see how long it takes to fill a quart bottle. If it takes 6 minutes or less, I'd think that the flow would be adequate.
