The "visible and understandable" wording could mean it's up to whoever pulls you over hehe.

I'm pretty sure I'd take them out in the twisties, looks like they would hit before the pegs.

I tested that by leaning the bike over in the garage. The end of the pegs have to move up 3 1/4 inches before the lights would be hit. They are about in the same position as the forward lower bend in your front exhaust pipe. Do you scrape those?

But...........to each their own........I like it..........thats all that matters

Pretty easy, just time consuming. I mounted them to the upper bolt of each forward control. The bolts sit in a "well" so you have to use a spacer to keep the mount pad of the blinker out of the "well". I measured the right side (brake) and it looked like a 1/2" spacer would work. I looked at the left side (shifter) it looked identical, just a mirror image. Picked up two 1/2" steel spacers and 1/2" longer bolts at Lowes. The spacers fit perfectly in the "wells".

Started on the right side. You have to grind the alignment tit off of the blinker mount base so it will sit flat. If I didnt like them down low I would move them to the middle triple clamp so I would have to remove those **** anyway. Where the wires go into the base there is a jamnut, you have to loosen that so you can mount the base like you want and point the blinkers the way you want. I left it snug, mounted it, pointed the blinkers how I wanted, removed the whole assembly, tightened the jamnut. Went to the left side, though they look the same, the forward mounts are different, the "well" on the left side is about a 1/4" deeper. If you dont want to grind your base I would get 3/4" spacers. Didnt feel like going to get new hardware so did a little grinding on the blinker mount until it fit. Took everything off, painted the spacers and my grinding marks then put everything back together tight.
You do have to extend the wires. If you look closely in my first pick you can see a VW Baja in the background. We rewired that whole thing this summer. Ive got a lot of extra wiring around, just so happens I had blue, purple and black........same as stock Soldered and heat shrunk the splices, put everything in a sheath, put it all back together.

And there you have it...........the controversial blinker relo

Yeah me too. Looks pretty cool. I saw an iron 883 project that did this and thought it looked good a few months back. Same question... How did you mount it?

Cool on the forward controls mounting area...as I first thought you might have drilled into the frame

I have already modded my signals for the lower tree mounting I have now. However, I have always wanted to clean up the front end a bit more and when I saw your bike it reminded me of the Iron pic someone else had mentioned.

It maybe my browser...but you closeup pic is not displaying....

Thanks for the quick response!

Looks cool but highly unlikely that anyone is going to notice that you intend to turn!
