The electric speedo on my stock 95 Sporty has been acting up for a while now. Every once in a while it won't work at all and then starts working again. Then it will be ok for a few rides and then act up again. Now it sits at 10 mph but the odometer seems ok when I travel familiar distances. I took out the sensor and cleaned the gunk off it, but that didn't help. I'm thinking I need a new speedo head due to the odometer seeming to be ok.
Anyone have an opinion on this one?

Did you mean to post a speedo for us to look at?

 

My ignition switch went bad. Key would wiggle and everything would konk out. Wiggle the key and back it came. I replaced the switch with a marine type and everything works great now. Hopefully it is something simple like that.
