isn't that the point of the smaller filter to catch some of that blow by oil? where does the blow by go with this setup?

The bike looks good so far! Is that a special tire/wheel you put on to have the old school look? I am asking because it looks very clean and it seems that the tire is rather thin...or is that an optical effect because of the white wall?

As the crankcase pressure escapes thru the filter the small amount of oil will separate and drain back into the engine. The oil can't make it up the hill. If you put the filter on the bottom, the oil will eventually saturate the filter and drip out. Gravity is working for you with a top installation. Against you on the bottom.

its just a stock size 90/90 21 made by Avon Venom-X , the rear is of a old shovel head fl ! lol..
