Default SE Air Filter Alert!

I was browsing another forum dedicated to XL's and came across aproblem with the SE AF's on rubber mounted XL's. Some bikers are finding pin holes in the foam air filter after low miles also warped back plates. This is the first I've heard about the problem, kind of makes me wonder if I'll use an SE Af for a stage 1. I am going to look into this some more but thought a heads up was in order.

I had an 04 1200r Sportster with the paper SEII ac. I went to clean it after about 3000 miles and it was full of holes.

I am now in the market for a new AC for my FXDI. I think I found thew old K&N SE AC at a dealer and I am debating whether to go with the old style SE AC of a Ness Big Sucker.

Stay away from the new paper SE AC!!!!!

Go to www.xlforum.net and check out the tech section of the forums...
And, yes, SE air cleaners for the '04 and later SUCK (in a bad way :-).
Hurricane Flow, Forcewinder, Ness Big Sucker, etc. are much better ways to go...

Hurricane Flow uses a K&N filter that may be the way to go for me , I wanted to keep the stock AF cover they sell filter and back plate with all the goodies to attach it and a filter for the rocker box breather hoses, K&N says a million miles on the filter. They claim an increase in HP over SE filters. Now does anyone have or know more oabout these AF's?
