Default Mikuni HRS 42 on my 03, 1200C

Just installed it and the install and tuning instructions were simple. However, it came with a 160 main jet installed and a 155 and a 165 additional. I live at 5600 ft and regularly ride up to 10,000 feet+. I have high flow air breather and performance exhaust. My old carb had a 180 main jet in it.
Wondering if I should try anything larger than the 165 main that came in the kit.
Up to about 1/2 throttle, engine response seems really good but a little dead from about 1/2 to full. Not bad but I think it could be better.
Ay Mikuni people out there?

I have one on my 99. I had to go all the way to a 175 to get it to run correctly. I also went up on the pilot and the needle. Everything I read told me I didn't need to but the plug was super lean till I went up on everything.
