Weird Clutch Issue
The clutch cable on my 99 Buell lost adjustment. Thinking the cable was fryed and stretching, I replaced the cable, adjusted it and the clutch. A few miles later, the cable went out of adjustment again. Adjusted cable again. A few miles more, it was out of adjustment again! Clutch isn't slipping. It just won't stay in adjustment. Cable adjuster is tight, so that isn't the problem. If the plates were wearing out, it seems to me that the clutch would slip, but it doesn't

It sounds like you may have a worn out Spring Plate in the clutch pack.
The Spring Plate is held together with brass rivets and they eventually wear out and break off. If you catch and replace the spring plate before it does too much damage that's good. If you keep riding it very long after it starts failing, you'll be buying and entire clutch basket assembly.
How many miles are on the bike?
