Slip-on's - any downside?
#14
I recently put some 2" rush slip ons on my 2011 48 and the difference in sound from stock is astounding. It is VERY loud but sounds mean as hell. I think it is running rich because when I accelerate and then let off it backfires... even see a flame or two out the ***-end.
I plan on getting an intake and remap to lean it out and make some more power out of that unburnt gas blowing out my tailpipe!

That said, Cobra doesn't have anything for the 2000 XL1200C. The SEII slip-ons I have now aren't bad, but perhaps a set of Rush plus a free-breathing AC are in the Sporty's future?

That black stuff is probably something in the new exhaust burning off...oil or if there is packing, that could be burning off a bit.
A less restrictive exhaust does NOT make you run richer, it makes you run leaner.
