Default Good buy, what do you think?

I am looking for a 2nd sporty, thinking of doing a cafe project, love the 883R dual disc front brakes.

I think I can get this for $4k, decent buy?

Yes, decent buy. However, please think hard about the whole "cafe" thing - it's the rage now, but will only be for another year or so. Then you've got a bike just like everyone else's cafe project.

I have, and am not 100% sure of it. I think there is a lot of cool options for that bike. I have a good buddy who does motor work and loves the carbed bikes, he would love to do this into a 1200.

Like I said I am not for sure yet, gonna go look at it hopefully tomorrow, seems like a pretty nice bike for 4k.

You're gonna get robbed when you show up with the cash. Good deal.

Cafe bikes have been popular since the 60s and I don't see that changing.

Plus, who gives a crap what is popular?

You like them? Build one!

I think its a great project and I hope you post pictures as it progresses.

I keep picturing it with cafe rear fender kit (black w\ white stripe) and seat pad, new Progressive 970's with the piggy back, RSD tracker exhaust, lick's clip-on's, and the RSD headlight\speedo bracket + motor work.

I just love sporty's, don't like much else. I could put about $7500 including purchase price, would be bad a$$, IMO.
