4 in curved riser kit 56066-82A OEM
Hey gang! I'm new to the forum and to riding a Harley. I own a 2014 Iron XL883n and have ordered the genuine HD curved riser kit 56066-82a, so that I can get a little bit better reach. I already replaced the stock seat with a solo reduced reach, which helps, but I need a little more pull back so my arms aren't out straight. I hope that I won't have to replace any cables and the specs don't say anything about needing any. Can I expect an easy swap out on these? Any advice from the vets?
Thanks.
P.S. I sure wish these things came in black, though.
Thanks.

Handlebar suggestion- thanks :-)
If my risers don't work (too late to cancel order), I'll look into the handlebar for sure. Thanks for the suggestion.

The Iron bars spec the same as a '48 model.
The 56085-83A is stock on the XL1200N , XL883R , and , XR1200.
Here's a link with measurements.
http://www.sideroadcycles.com/Import...ckBarsOne.html
Here's a couple pics showing the difference.
Doesn't look like much , but feels alot different when riding.
If you make a fist then knuckle to the grip and move it to about half way out the grip , you get an idea where your hands end up.
They go about $79.00 at the dealer.
Stock brake line "just" fits with a little tweak.

Ok, just got the risers and installed them. Just what I needed for pull back and reach, but...now the speedometer is vertical and can't be used/seen. What are my options for being able to keep the risers on AND seeing my speedo?!?

There are a few pics in the other thread (I tried to warn you).

One guy used sockets as extensions and another guy re-purposed a pair of cable clamps to attach an older style speedo bracket. Those bikes used bulbs for dummy lights. The newer ('07 up) bikes use LEDs instead of bulbs. In 2014, they went to a CANbus system, but I'm not sure what influence that will have on dummy light components. You gotta figure out what parts you need to get your dummy lights into some other style of speedo bracket. After market components, that don't have the bend in the speedo bracket (eliminating the vertical orientation), are available, too, that would permit mounting your speedo to your present risers. A different handlebar clamp, widely available in many forms, would be required for any of the above options. Again, the trick is transferring your dummy lights to a new arrangement. Different components for the dummy lights, the lights' housing and the lights' lens are used for different Harley models/years. You just gotta match up/customize something that'll work.
Go here and look up your bikes assembly diagrams with part #s:
http://www.shopronniesharleydavidson...FZMkgQodQ4sAUg
Click on "OEM Harley Davidson Parts Finder" in the top menu, enter your bike's info, scroll down (under the Frame heading) and look at "Speedometer Assembly". That'll show you whatcha got. Then, find what you'd like it to be and make it work.
A modular system allows you to get the handlebar clamp you want, then attach the speedo clamp you want on top. An example, from J&P Cycles Catalog:

and
http://www.jpcycles.com/product/632-420
A few manufacturers make kits that relocate your speedo/dummy lights to the side of your gas tank. Probably not what you're looking for, but they're an option. Joker Machine, for example.
Lots of options to explore. Look around, before you get too fixated on one solution. Try a Google Images "Sportster Speedometer Bracket". See if something jumps at you and post it here.
