Default Upswept Fishtails on a 48??

Anybody know of any upswept fishtail exhaust out there for a 48? Can't find any and really like the look. Not talented enough to make my own.

Never been a fan of skyscrapers, but that is just my humble opinion. I have never seen them for a Sportster platform, but it would not be too hard to fabricate. If you can get the fishtails, any competent exhaust shop should be able to weld the setup for you.

I too wanted a set of upsweeps but as I understand the only reason why nobody makes one is because of the rubber mounted motor. The entire exhaust has to move with the motor.

Yeah, I know that's the problem. I've been spending a lot of time in the garage looking at the bike trying to come up with ideas. My wife calls this activity "ball scratching."

How about the idea of leaving the mounts where they connect to the muffler interconnect bracket and cutting off the stock pipe just after where it enters the interconnect bracket and then extending the pipes past the mounts (using them) and sweeping up from there. The pipes can't be as heavy as the stock or aftermarket mufflers. Still giving this idea a lot of thought. Any input is appreciated as it seems I'm not really getting anywhere with this idea.

Just an idea but try contacting a few custom exhaust shops and see about having them build something up for you. For reference here's a set of upswept pipes that were build by the guy at RoughCraft. Notice the support bracket is mounting onto the pully cover.
Not exactly what you're looking for but kinda close.

Great thread, the pic of that bike is what I'm in the process of doing.
Just got some $80 dragpipes to mod over at a friends shop.
I like the bracket on the pulley cover idea.
