It still will be red but you did modify the amount of light output by dimming it so technically it is illegal but I don't think anyone would bother you over it. People do it all the time to cars and I've only heard of a few cases of being pulled over for it.

I got 4 smoked lenses with 2 amber bulbs and 2 red bulbs on ebay for $15 shipped,there bright as hell and never been pulled over and have sat in front of caps at lights.

I like it. Prob going to do this eventually to my 48. Digging the drag bars too. I really wanna see a 48 with the spoked wheels black.

I have smoked lenses also from harley so they are dot aproved and not tinted dark. I don't think a cop cares as long as that are visible.
