I heard of one that may be mountable to the bike (and preferably vented so it doesn't splode), and doesn't look too terrible with it on or off.
Also, what are some good examples of auxilary tanks that may sit on top of the main?

Thanks!

P.S.
It's a 48, so no saddle bags to stow anything away in, and would rather not tow in plain sight, like behind the sissy bar.
I recently compelted a 6500+ mile trip and used an MSR bottle for fuel; I mounted mine on the left side downtube using a fire extinguisher wall hangar that had a quick release spring clamp.

The Cherry Bomb above looked good.
The MSR is the price leader.
Good comment about fire extinguisher mount and frame tube.

Yes, carrying in a backpack does not sound so good and behind sissybar maybe the best option for overall handling balance though.

10 miles would be about (about) 1/3 of a gallon. I'd rather have a gallon myself.

Does gasoline weigh 13 lbs a gallon? Weight could be a consideration.

More like 6.2 lbs/gal.

Just a thought but 10miles being 1/3 gal sound really low. You may want to look here first. On a bad high revving day I'd be surprised to see numbers as low as 10m tp 1/4 gallon

Has anyone ever ordered from Spitfire Motorcycles before? Just wondering if they are a decent company and don't take forever to ship stuff.

Oxymoron?

Pickup a 3.3 gal tank off eBay and forget about all the hassle of carrying spare fuel cans.

Here is a pic of my bike from my recent trip; on the left you can see the MSR bottle mounted to the frame downtube.

not too close to the motor? What kind of clip did you use to hook it onto there?

Thanks.
