Ignition Coil & Switch relocation..

Ignition Coil & Switch relocation..
I did the last major mod to my bike yesterday..
"Frisco" mounted the gas tank high on the frame, relocated the ignition coil to the left side of the twin, relocated the ignition switch to the lower left side of the frame, and tucked all the wires under the tank. THUS.. creating a nice space above the rockers, and also removing about 5 pounds of plastic bull****.
Wanted to comment on this process and share some insight. If it wasn't for the plastic wire guard removal and wire tuck, this would have been an easy day. The coil & switch relocation kits from DKCustoms are awesome. Just remember to have a ratchet extension to tighten the bolt that attaches to the primary if you're relocating the switch as well as the coil.
As for the wire tuck, if you're going to do this job right I'm afraid it is a necessary evil. Just have plenty of black electrical tape handy, and maybe a friend to prop up the tank while you figure out where you're putting what. I bought my "Frisco" tank lift from Eternal Combustion and it looks great. HOWEVER it required a trip to the local HD to pickup a longer tank bolt. I guess the tanks they are meant for have narrower mounting tabs.
All in all it was a long long day, BUT the bike looks killer!!!!!!!!!!!
If it ain't tough it ain't worth doing..
A few last minute mods to do this week and I'll be filming video 2.
Will post when complete.
If you missed video 1 you can check it out here:
