Probably right, I was not aware that the Bells are now made in China. I was referring to the ones made at the Bieffe factory when Bieffe owned the name.

 

For sure those were the good ones. I wasn't trying to bash the name, just to let people know that the one I bought back in 2009 turned out to be absolute junk.

Shame too, it was a badass looking helmet, just never worked right or held up to daily use.

I keep telling myself that eventually I'll splurge on an Arai or Shoei (I'm a FF guy), but I can't bring myself to spend that much on a helmet.

 

The Sprint is outdated, was replaced by the Arrow (2010), and is a much better helmet.

Thay have a nice line all the way up.

I had a brand new Cerwinske edition Star that I got from e-bay for $250 (made an offer, could not believe they accepted), auction was listed at $599 obo. I really liked it, but had to list it again to see if I could make money. Some dude in Austrailia paid $440+ shipping.

I bought a Bell Arrow, Daytona 3/4, ACC half shell and paid for my new Magnum Black Pearl cables with what I got out of it.

I would like another one though, might go make some more offers......

 

Bell makes great helmets - I have the Arrow (cheaper) & am extremely pleased w/the quality. Motorcycle Superstore is probably the cheapest place to purchase...good luck!

 

Bell went through a period of outside ownership much like H-D did with AMF. Like H-D, Bell produced inferior products during that time and almost went bankrupt as a result. Under the current ownership, by most reviews, they are putting out great helmets that are at, or near, the top of their class at the respective price points. My RS-1 is great and my wife's Revolver is too.

 

I paid about $425 for my Arai about 8 years ago. Hard pill to swallow, bit it's by far the most comfortable helmet (besides a brain bucket) I've experienced and those eye-brow vents built into the face shield are the greastest thing since electric start. At the time, it was the best money I'd spent on motorcycling (excluding gas). Now, it gives me claustrophobia, but dang it fit great. It's been a while. Maybe I should give it another try. If you drop the duggets on one, you won't regret it. If I find myself going back to a FF, I'd try Arai first. My first one is getting past its useful life span.

 

Yeah, I have never met a rider who wasn't totally happy with their Arai.

I will get one someday, but for now my HJC is well vented, super comfy, and has a sealed dual-screen visor that is literally fog-proof.

Not bad for a helmet that cost about $150 NIB online.

 

I have a modular but don't wear it anymore. They are noisy and it's my heaviest helmet to boot. Sometimes i take my face shield off my HJC FF helmet but its unnecessary as i've never felt overheated even at 100F in a FF helmet as long as i'm moving. In fact i find it totally comfortable to wear a heavy MC jacket with temps below 85F. Helmet and jacket both offer shade to your body from the beating sun. Something else to think of is that price doesn't always mean better. I won't buy anything thats not Snell Foundation approved either.

 

I've got a Bell Vortex and a 500. I wear the 500 more often, but I've been very happy with the vortex.

 

I have a Bell Vortex and a Bell Custom 500 as well. I am very pleased with both helmets.
