My girlfriend has been wanting her own bike for a while now. 2 weeks ago, we were at the local HD dealership and found a deal on an '08 Nightster with 1100 miles on it that I couldn't pass up. We picked it up and my only stipulation was that she take the MSF course and get her license before she rides it. It's been killing her to walk out in the garage and see a bike that she can't ride AND that I've ridden it to work a few times. Well, she took her first class today and came bounding in the door excited as hell!! She LOVES riding and can't wait!! She's ridden quads off road, but that's it as far as experience. She has her last class tomorrow and her DMV test on thursday.

It looks like I'm going to have a new riding pal in the line up. I'm as excited as she is!! It will be weird having her next to me at a red light instead of on the back!

Congrats! Good luck with the new version of your riding partner. Trying to build my wife's confidence up to giving it a shot. Finally got her to sit in a Sportster Super Low and whatdayaknow! Her feet hit the ground!

 

I love to hear it! I have to get my girl a bike next spring, between work and school she doesn't want to add the rider course this summer.

Well she passed her classes this weekend so I took her and her bike up to the local college and let her ride around in the parking lot. We worked on things that she learned in the class and started getting used to how much bigger her bike is compared to what she rode in class. She has a whole new respect for riders now and a little power and good brakes. Her class bike was a 125 Kawasaki Eliminator with drum brakes! A mini bike compared to her Nightster. She is in LOVE now!!
