resistor for led turn singnal
I know this has been talked about, but can't I just put in a resistor instead of a equalizer to make my blinkers work? It seems it would be a lot cheaper. I have a 99 sportster and the hazards work but blinkers won't flash just not sure how to figure out resistor size.

The Radio shack near me does sell a resistor that will work, but you need one for each light you change to LED and they are big blocks of porcelain. I can't remember what the value of the resistor is, but it was the biggest one they carried in stock. The equalizers may be more expensive, but they are smaller and they just plug right in.

5 or 10 Ohm 5 Watt resistors. Most of the cheaper equalizers are just these shrinkwrapped together.
You could probably go with lower wattage resistors, but you'd be safe at 5, and they're readily available.
They also make "no load" relays that will work with LED's without the need for any equalizer.
