My english is not so good and i am not a cableguy so tell everything to me simple as possiple. Diagrams or photos would be fine... I have allready try to install this but i dont get it work. It shows about half rpm without adapter, and with adapter it shows 0rpm. Tachowires go now under my seat where is that big plug just before my SE ign box. Above my coil is 3 wires and i follow those to under my seat and try to install tachowires there. I have pictures about my wires so if you want to see how my bikes and wires look like, email me. Tacho have 4 wires, blue (lamp on), red (12V), Green (negative terminal of coil or cdi) and black (ground). Adapter have 3 wires, http://www.baronscustom.com/catalog/display/243/.
And please dont begin your answer " I quess...."

04+ models need the tach adapter since they are single fire ... without using it you will get a 1/2 reading as you see. This should be covered in your installation instructions from Baron.
You will need to splice into the coil connector. The connector is a 3 pin and can be found on top of the coil by the spark plug wires.
Pin 1 is a Yellow wire w/ blue stripe ... you splice the solid yellow wire from the adapter.
Pin 3 is a Blue wire w/ orange stripe ... you splice the solid blue wire from the adapter.
The green wire is the signal wire and splices into the green wire located on the tach. Green on Green

The front coil is is the Blue/orange stripe wire, and the rear coil is the Yellow/blue stripe wire. The green wire interprets the data for the tach.
If you want to ... and have enough length of wire you can also splice in from the ICM under the seat (may be easier to hide the adapter under the seat). If you do it this way the Front BE/O wire is located on Pin 6, and the Rear Y/BE wire is located on Pin 7.

I did do wiring and with that adapter tacho shows 0rpm. Im 100% sure that i make wiring correct. Without adapter it shows half rpm. Now im sure that adapter is wrong for my bike. Chunky from LaChoppers says that Baron adapter doesent work every bike. Some dude says that my adapter should have 4 wires... What happend if i connect bouth coil wires to green wire? (stupid question) My tacho needs dual fire... and i need a right adapter...

If you get a chance send photos of your work.
On Tach the blue and red wires go to the power source ... say the Orange/white stripe wire (I have mine together on the same O/W power wire).
The black is the ground.
The green wire from the tach connects to the green wire on the adapter.
I do not know how else to explain it.

I found a discrepancy in the Baron instructions. The instructions that come with the adapter state that:
1. The yellow wire of adapter goes to the front blue/orange wire of harness.
2. The blue wire of adapter goes to the rear yellow/blue wire of harness.
I have instructions that say differently, because I also have a baron tach. However, this setup will also work on an HD tach ... so I think it will work for you. I have found an earlier post in which a member had the same problem in wiring the way the instructions state. He was told not to use the adapter. He says that his tach now works ... but I am wondering if it is accurate. Since yours is not working properly without the adapter I am going out on a limb to say that both of you wired incorrectly using the instructions that came with the adapter. I could be wrong, but I do not think the reading is correct without using the adapter on an 04+ bike.

Here are the instructions that I used for my HD and Baron Tachs and I can say that it worked accurately for both of them. The HD reading may a look a little low, but it is a carb and the bike had just been started. The instructions that I have from Barom work properly.
Good Luck ... maybe someone should connect Baron ... or maybe they just want you to buy their tach.
