Chrome fork slider, any good?
I am thinking to get the chrome sliders, the only thing holding me back is to keep it clean. Do you have any problem like rock chip and scratch over time? I would like to know. I might just get some paint remover and remove the clear coat of the stock ones, then polish them nicley.

They aren't any problem to keep clean, just wipe them down like the chrome on the rest of the bike.
You would risk more of a chance of getting rock chips and/or scratches on your tank or other painted parts than on the lower/upper forks.

Chrome sliders will suffer a rock chip or two if you ride long enough. The ones on my RK have a chip or two.
Polishing is a great way to go and nearly free. I polished the sliders along with most of the other engine parts on my Ironhead 10+ years ago. They still look great. You have to shine 'em up with a little Mother's a few times a year. But, that's no biggie.
If you are gonna polish, do it right. Pull the sliders and do it on a bench buffer. You can make them look like chrome with very little effort.

You need to pull the legs to make polishing easier. You need to use Aircraft stripper to take off the clear and then polish them with a bench buffer and assortment of wheels/compunds.
If you buy a set of take-off legs and send them to me, I will polish them for a few bucks.

I found a local guy can buff and polish a pair for $60, not too bad. He said I have to keep them waxed and sealed in the winter, otherwise they will turn white. On the other hand, I do want to learn how to do that, may start with my belt guard and see how it goes, if I screw it up, I can just keep it on the shelf lol. [
