I was wondering if anyone out there could help me with my problem. When I start my bike it runs fine, but when it gets hot and I try to go below 1800 RPMs it just dies, if I keep it above 1800 RPMs it runs fine. When it starts to mess up, if I give it just a little bit of gas it spits and sputters until I can get the RPMs up than it's OK again. I have put on a new carb but it didn't help any. As for mods I hade it rejetted with a .050 jet, Big Gun 3 exhaust, Scream Eagle air cleaner, Scream eagle spark plugs and wires. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

 

Have you tried adjusting the air/fuel/mixture screw and the idle screw on the carb?The jet may be too big also but im not sure on that.I haven't had to re jet mine yet.

I had it rejetted about 3 years ago and it has run fine until about a year ago when this started. The fellow who sometimes works on my bike who has been doing it for 20 some years working only on Harleys says he puts .050 jets in sportsters regularly with no problems. Thanks for the reply
