A wake up call
Good thread. This past week end I almost put my bike down. I hit gravel on a road leading into a horse shoe, climbing turn at the start of 26% grade. I was leaning over so much I scraped about an 1/8 of an inch off the lower bracket that supports the floor board on my bike. I stayed on the throttle and just kept going, kicking up gravel everywhere until my rear tire caught traction, the bike straightened up and I kept going. Pucker time for sure, a real wake up call!
So after thinking it over and reading this thread I think I'm going to try a pair of those Bohn Armor Pants that you wear under your jeans. They have a 90 day no risk trial so I figure why not.
PS: Got the Armor Pants in on Saturday. Not sure that I like them though. They do fit under your pants but it feels bulky, especially the tail piece that protects your tail bone. Will probably return them.

I recently added 2 pieces of gear for a little protection.
I got a Speed and Strength armored hoody, thick, mesh liner and CE inserts for shoulders and elbows, yesterday I got my Knox Fastback CE back protector, which is a mesh vest, with a vented CE back pad.
I rode with it all yesterday, was 85, felt comfotable.

On the hottest days I wear a half helmet, Wiley X glasses, Icon leather perforated gloves, and my Daytona boots. Otherwise, I sometimes throw on a mesh Bering Sunrise jacket, or my leather Joe Rocket Sonic jacket. Sometimes on colder rides I may also wear a pair of Draggin Jeans over my regular pants. I also wear a Shoei RF-1000 fullface in cooler weather. I'm not going to lie, it's weather than mainly dictates my level of protection.
