Default Relocated my license plate

Now here's my question to those who have done it...

the bracket that mounts the license plate mount to the bike is like an 8th inch or so thick. It seems like it moved my fender over so that the side where the license plate mount is a lot closer to the rear wheel than it should be. Any one else notice this when they did this to their bike? I'm sure I'm just being paranoid (i realize that the bracket is pretty thick). Either way, I'll have pics up soon, love the fact that my plate is no longer on top of the fender
