Hey everyone. Soon to be brand-new rider here. I have my eyes set on an Iron 883 (really would have preferred a 2011 for styling, but all my local deals don't have any) and will hopefully get one next month. It'll be a really nice upgrade to the (very faithful) 50cc moped I've been using; can't beat the 80mpg i get on it!

Anyhow, wife wants to ride with me at times. Are the Iron 883s conducive to ride with two passengers? Are the backrests removable when I'm riding solo? Both my wife and I aren't very large. I'm 5'5" 130 lb and my wife is 5'0" 120 lb.

I am getting a 883 Iron in september (on order) . Already have an electra Glide . The 883 Iron does not have passenger foot pegs or passenger seat . All can be added along with backrest and is detachable . The 883 Iron will carry you and your wife with no problems . Enjoy your new bike Im going to .

 

You can ride two up with your wife, but make sure you try to work in the passenger pegs, passenger pillion, sissy bar mounts (for removable), sissy bar, and back rest into the deal with your bike. Yes these are ALL separate items and end up costing over $700, unless you find used or aftermarket.
