I have 16" apes that came on my '77 XLCH when I got it, and don't like them one bit. I bought the buckhorns for it as I've always loved the look. Once I get them on, I'll know if I really like them functionally, but whatever happens, I will NOT go back to the apes!

Default Buckhorns on a trilke?

I have a '04 Sporty R with a trike kit. 5 degree ez steer and EZ clutch.

I am considering buckhorns for the following reasons:

a, nobody likes them

b, its kinda over the top, like the whole package.

c, the trike doesn't lean, leaving me to use my body parts to keep my a$$ in the seat. bringing my hand holds closer into my center core might improve my grip on the bike.

d, reduction in the amount of arm/body extension required for turning.

Any comments? No, I have not tried any buckhorns yet and I will consider mini-apes as well.

This might be his reason "F", for getting buck horns. Economics, someone will probably give him a set.

You might be right! Too funny, my friend! Now that I think about it, the center section might make a good stash tube. Hmmm....

Buck horn's are turned back towards you. This will make your arm's swing out when you turn and your upper body twist. Your reason D is a bust. Apes give you less arm and body movement in a turn. But hay It's you who will be riding it so put on what works best for you. Enjoy the ride.

I put over 45,000 miles on mine with buckhorns. They are comfortable. Here's some pics of mine.
