Did you have to extend your cables for those Chumps? Or will the stock cables work ok?

My 883 came with buckhorns from the person that sold it to me. They were awful. They made my wrists hurt by the angle that they turn inward. I ended up buying stock handlebars from the local independant mechanic for $20 and putting them on myself. Best $20 I spent on that bike.
So, long story short, I would rather have stock than the buckhorns, and that's not saying much.
I'd like to try out the mini-apes myself but wonder if they wouldn't be really uncomfortable at high speed.

Mine had apes on it when I bought it, but because of repeated shoulder injuries on my tugboat days, my hands go numb when I hold them at shoulder level or higher. Loved the look tho. I've now got buckhorns on, and the height feels good, but the wrist angle is odd. I'm going to give it a while and see if I get used to it, I reckon. Before & after below:
