I also have the stock bar on my Low...but do plan to make the change in a near future...but I always find me thnking if I'll feel some difference into it...

the biltwell 12 inch apes are the ONLY way to go on a sporty. All other apes in existence (that i've encountered) are wider at the base then the triple tree. The biltwell actually look right on a sporty. They also have a slight buckhorny pull on the wrist. I" can't say enough good things about em. here's my sporty with them in front of my barn

By pushing the bars so far forward you've removed the buck horn affect.
I had the 10" bucks, changed to 10" mini apes. Feel the same but I like the look better. That's why I swapped em out.

I bought a used 08 nightster that has the mini apes on it. I like the way it handles but any time I get on a road that is somewhat bumpy they feel like they are going to break in half. I love the way they look but I'm going to 16 in Roland Sands king apes after riding a buddies softtail with 18 in apes on it

Beasly (pictured above) already had buckhorns installed when I bought him. All of my previous riding experience had been with swept back bars, more like the stock bars. It took me a while to get used to the look and feel. After a week or so, though, it felt natural.

I like my buckhorns. If I ever switch the bars, I'll probably try to find something closer to the stock bars just swept back a bit more.

I sat on a 72 last week and the stock bars felt quite comfortable.

Apes. I feel more like superman! And if the set you get is to wide for the triple tree just chop them and weld em up!
