Default Oil Leaking from clutch cable

I just bought a 1999 sportster 883 for my son it only has 4900 miles on it and is a real cherry. The problem I'm having is there's oil leaking from the clutch adjuster. Could it be that a vent is stopped up? Is the oil level to full? Thats a whole other problem. I pull the dip stick out and there's only one mark on the stick. Dont know if that is the full or the add mark. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You mean from the derby cover? You could put a new o-ring on the cover and see if it leaks. Maybe post a pic to clear up what your saying. Hopefully it's nothing serious.

No it's not coming from the derby cover. It's coming from the clutch adjuster on the cable along the down tubes of the frame.

The adjusting screw that the gaiter covers? There shouldn't be any oil in there unless someone put it there. Could it be a leak from above or elsewhere that is dripping on to it?

+1.....Someone could have over filled the cable housing when they lubed it......
