Default Flipped Bars

I flipped the stock bars on my 03 sport and I'm having a problem with the throttle cables. The throttle sticks some when i twist it. It seems like they might be too long, it feels like they are in a bind. When i take the throttle assembly off the handlebars and the pressure is off the cables it works fine. Has anybody every had this problem or know a good solution?

I had the same issue. Dissect your throttle controls - they are installed incorrectly. Something is hung up, trust me. Look at my bars. Stock EVERYTHING and I don't have any problemas.

After you flipped them, make sure there are no burs or rough spots on the throttle side of the bars. That side used to be on the left side of the bike and was not meant for the throttle. I found I had to take emery cloth to my new throttle side and sand it down to make sure it was smooth and the throttle wouldn't stick. Weird thing was it wouldn't stick when I just slid it on, but as soon as I got tension on it with the throttle cables attached, it wouldn't snap back. Once I sanded, worked smooth as silk. Good Luck!

Make sure you are not sliding the controls too far on the bar, your the end of the grip may be rubbing on the end of the bar. Just loosen the clamp a bit and slide the whole assembely out about 1/8 inch or so and see if that helps.
