I was under the impression that the oil I think your referring to is from the air filter and is a condition allot of sporties have. Also there is a port on the bottom side of the 'pos' that lines up with the buildup (I'm ashamed to admit the buildup was there when I bought the bike and I haven't scrubbed it off yet). I didn't realize it was an issue as it seems like more of a mist that has collected on the primary chain cover. Ive never seen an actual 'drop'.

Any suggestions on what I can look for as the cause?

(The reason I needed the information about the 'pos' is because I wanted to change the filter to see how quickly/how much oil would collect.)

Well then you may have a couple issues with oil. It looks like to me that the breather bolts are leaking some of the oil onto the top couple fins and that is the oil that's dripping down to your pushrod tubes....Or your breather bolts are leaking, your getting excessive blow by build up in the A-C and that's dripping down. Try tightening up the breather bolts, clean the AC filter & inside of the filter housing, clean the motor, and check you oil level in the bag to make sure you're not over filled.....Then ride and keep an eye on it to see how long it takes for it to come back, or buy/make a breather kit that routes the oil to the ground.
