Default Why does my bike keep flooding when I fill the tank

Last few times I filled up she wouldn't start for like 5 min. I shut off the fuel valve... Think I might be filling it a little too full? the little piece of metal that the nozzle of the fuel pump gun is supposed to sit on is gone in this tank... Could that be it?

i know that if i overfill (happened twice when the gas didnt shut off when the tank was full), the bike has a hard time starting and then runs like sh*t - some kind of charcoal filter that floods??

What's this little piece of metal that the fuel pump nozzle is suppose to be sitting on that you're talking about? The fuel pump nozzle is suppose to go in the hole of the gas tank. I think you're saying that you rest the nozzle on the vent line while filling and shooting fuel into the gas tank hole, which is filling your tank vent line up with fuel causing the non-starting issue. Oh, and yes, that little nipple of metal, ( you tank vent line), should be there.
