hey guys, I want to bring this thread back, the photo above looks great.

I have an 08 Rubber Mounted sporty, and Im going to add a rigid tail kit to it this winter. Now that these tail kits have been around a while, Im looking for a 4" stretch for a rubber mount and from what I hear might need a 2" drop as well.

Who makes the best kits? Lowbrow, LedSled? Any others with killer welds and a great silhouette?

Also, Ive been looking but havent seen many EFI hard tails, so am wondering where you guys put the ECM, power commander and all the junk?

i just ordered a Led Sled 2” stretch 2” drop for my 04. I’ll probably do a post once I get the project started. After asking a few people and doing some internet research I think both Led Sled and David Bird hard tails for rubbermount sportys look good, just depends on what you prefer. I’ve seen a couple builds on the XL forum in the chopper section of EFI chops. Seems like you could do it in a battery box if you use a smaller battery.

If you haven't already, subscribe to XLFORUM.net. Tons of information there for all things Sporty. I have two pre-04's I converted to bobbers using LedSled weld ons. XLFORUM was invaluable in providing ideas and advice. Navigate to Forums, Sportster Motorcycle Styles, Chopper and Bobber talk.
