RE: "screaching noise when closing throttle"
LoL...I have an 2003-1200C Sporty with about 3800 miles on it...and this morning i posted a thread about the same thing on my bike. Where in the Primary is the bolt that might be loose? I am gonna take the derby cover off this week and check it out? Also, i have never personally adjusted the chain, is it something i can do or should i take it to the shop?
Thanks
Thanks

RE: "screaching noise when closing throttle"
Go to the Harley shop and buy a service manual, then adjust the primary yourself. When you remove the derby cover, be careful not to strip the torx bolts as they are extremely tight from the factory. When replacing the cover, you can put a little grease on the o-ring gasket to hold it in place. Tighten the cover bolts a little at a time using a crossing pattern.

RE: "screaching noise when closing throttle"
Thanks Old Geezer. I put a new derby cover on in the spring and i did exactly what u just said not to do... I stripped one of the bolts and had to drill the head of it off to get it out... I made it a much larger process than it should be but atleast it got done. The previousl derby cover was leakin b/c the gasket was pinched!!
