Bought my Nightster brand new last year. It's my first Harley and first new bike. I don't believe I'll ever get rid of it. I may get another bike in the future but I don't think I'll ever get rid of it.

!984 Ironhead. It does not eat or take up much space, always starts and runs like a top. I will have it forever. My problem is selling anything I have loved and have some tool try to talk it down so he can get it cheaper. I will never have a yard sale either. The Road Glide, 98 dyna convertible, '80 FLH shovelhead AND the sporty in a two car garage....

As of right now I have no plans to sell my Sporty ever. Even if I bump to a bagger, I'll keep the sporty.

I just have an emotional attachment to it. My first road bike and first HD. Took too many years of trying to convince my wife that it was something I was determined to do. She always thought it would be a "flash in the pan" and I'd be bored with street bikes in a matter of months. She was wrong and now knows how much it means to me so It likely will remain in my garage for as long as I'm alive.

That may seem dumb but thats how I feel about it.

I bought my sporty in 05 and will NEVER sell it. I am planing to get a trike for the wife at some point. I have to much time and money in to her to ever get rid of my sporty. Buy the way it is a 88 883 customized by me.

I had my 1200 for 4 years and traded it in on a Street Bob.

I had my first one for 30 years (got it from my uncle, who'd had it for over 20 years - he got it brand new, as a HS graduation gift), until I gave it to my son. He still has it, three years later...

I have a Sportster 883L, my first (road legal) bike. Picked it up May 19th of this year and I plan on keeping it until I die. That's the start of my collection there. Maybe one day I'll pass it on to my kid, if god forbid, I have one.

I put 12000 miles on my Sportster by March when I came out to Afghanistan. I've had her exactly a year, with 6 months of being able to ride her. I'm keeping her for at least another 38,000!!!!
