Default Derby cover torque

Hey ya'll. Picked up an '09 883L last weekend. Service manual is on order but I wanted to get the fluids changed out. It's at 1500 miles and was supposed to be done/inspected at 1000. (P.O. I'm sure did not have it done).

I didn't want to assume the derby cover bolt torque was the same as my dyna. I would hate to make more work for myself by snapping one off in the primary cover. Anyone have the torque spec?????

Never mind........Approx. 100 in. lbs.

Bought a service manual for it today and dumped the oil. Man, was it crappy after 1500 miles. No wonder they recommend 1000 then 5000. I'll finish up the other 1000k checks and rest easy until 5k.

Hmmmmm. 40 views and not one reply? Anyone else got a service manual?
Not meaning to dis on anyone as I found the info in the search mode. Should have done that first.........apologies.

Side note. My wife was spending time riding it all around the college campus this weekend to get more comfortable on it. She made a left turn a bit short and it started to go over, I ran over to help and she just grunted and straightened it upright. "I'm NOT letting this bike hit the ground" she said. Well babe, ya got more body strength than you think. Nice move, keep practicing.

She's starting to have fun.........finally.

100 in lbs would be correct. Two fingers on a screwdriver is enough, I actually use a 1/4 in rachet and just barely snug them. Remember to put anti-seize on the bolts/screws to prevent binding on removal.

Good thing you saw that it was inches and not in feet. Made that mistake one 2 bolts on the derby cover.
