I do not think lowering the bike down (the weight of the bike alone) would make the oil leak pass the seal.

Too much air yes, too much oil yes, nick on tube yes and jouncing the suspensing yes.

Maybe it has been leaking for a while and now that the dust cover was lifted....you noticed it.
