Default Jiffy Stand problem

Help all -

When i finished my ride tonight (45 miles of beautiful CT and Westchester county!) and parked my bike, I noticed the jiffy stand spring on the ground and the stand therefore won't stay retracted. For the life of me, I can't figure out where this spring attaches to the bike (the place it attaches to the jiffy stand is obvious). My rider buddy saw this happened - we checked his softail and there is an obvious place where the spring mounts on his bike (a protruding piece with a hole). Any ideas? Ive tried a few flush holes on the bottom of the bike, they dont' seem right (either the stand is too tight or way too lose). I'd hate to have to ride into the dealership with this problm [:-]

I think there is a pin that holds in up on one end. All in all, it may be best to take it to the dealer and let them figure out why it came off. Once I get motivated, I will go under my bike and look.

There is a large post welded to the frame, with a button head, and where the spring wraps around it is shaved down....

The post faces inboard I think, and is on the frame hoop inboard....

OK, it is really obvious how the spring attaches...one end on a 1/2" clevis pin attached to the frame and the other in a hole up the jiffy stand. Could you have broken off the clevis pin?

Sorry about the problem. You can use a bungie cord to keep it up until you get it fixed. It could have been a poor casting, so see if the dealer will repair. Other than this problem, I hope you are enjoying your new XL Low.

Gonna be a trick to wrap that bunggie around it while not falling over, lol[8D]
