Don't think we will be riding when temps are in the teens. But who knows, if I start having withdrawls I may have to just put on the coveralls and go for it.

Can one tender be modified to tend two batteries? Craze
No. Using one Battery Tender for two bikes could be diasterous and could cause a fire. They do make a Battery Tender for more than two batteries but since you have one, pick up a second on eBay - they're cheaper there.

Default RE: Storage for the winter suggestions

I just put mine in storage and got advice from the HD Dealer and fellow riders. Their advice coupled with what I think is common sense and what seems logical:

1 - Change the Oil; why - this will remove most of the contaminants built up and coat your engine with fresh mostly contaminant free oil
I believe most HDs use a synthetic blend, thats a good thing

2 - Add fuel Stabilizer and then run the fule down as low as probably 1/4 tank; why - When it is time to take your bike out of storage you don't want to try and burn out a whole 4.5 gal of fuel before adding fresh fuel.

3 - Get the Bike of the Concrete, raise it or roll it onto carpet; why - to salvage your tires from rotting; of course raising it is better this will also relieve th shocks.

4 - Put a battery tender on it; why - maintain a trickle charge to prolong the life of the battery. Even if you disconnect the battery i believe you may still need to charge it when it is time to get the bike out from storage.

5 - Cover the bike; why - just to keep it dust free and prevent it from getting accidentally scratched.

6 - A warm storage area is a good thing; why not.

7 - Don't start it up every week to let it run for a couple minutes; why - it's in storage leave it alone.

The above is only my humble opinion. It gives me my warm fuzzy that I have done all I can to protect my bike and keep it ready for the next ride. Good Luck.
