Not sure exactly. I noticed a wobble/weave while riding the highways a week or two ago and took a look when I got where I was going. I didn't see anything wrong, no loose spokes that I spot checked, so I kept going. Fast forward to now and it happened again, but worse. This time there were tons of loose spokes.

The uneven spoke tensions ended up pulling some into the aluminum hub and pushing others a little out so that it will be impossible to seat them properly again and making the rim have a slight wobble to it. Lateral runout was nearly 1/4''. Didn't measure radial.

I think it was probably one loose spoke/big bump that threw it off in the first place and then my inability to recognize it right away and riding on it that made it worse. By the time I figured it out the damage was done.

To be honest though, I need a new wheel set up front and rear, the guy I bought the bike from neglected it and let them get real bad. Pitting in the chrome and slight corrosion on the spokes. Still functional, but bad.

Thanks. That was the first place I checked but I couldn't find any that were the right size. If you have the link I'd appreciate it.
