Is there a manufacturer that makes a forward controls kit, that gets a little bit more length than the HD kits? My local dealer only has a 1200 custom set up with the forwards, and it still feels 2-4 inches short. I looked at the set up on the bike and it would be very easy to have the pegs relocated to any location with a different mounting bracket. I assume any aftermarket kit is a bit different anyways, so I am hoping you guys know of one that moves the controls little bit farther out. Thanks.
there are extension kits/brackets out there, many of which are +2".

You are exactly right. My old 02 Custom came with forwards and drag bars. The Custom also has a tall riser. The drags still sucked. Try to find some decent risers. You'll probably have to replace some cables though. Not difficult but its more money.

But would it look weird? That your legs are stretched out but you're sitting straight up.

I would just like to say thanks to the OP. I basically had the same questions as her and this thread helped a lot.

I don't think it looked weird but then again, I didn't buy my bike with the intent of looking cool or anything like that. It was 100x more comfortable. Plus, judging by the pic by the OP, she'll look good regardless of the bike setup.

My drag bar goes way back, its the one that mthrfcknsullivan posted on page 1 of this thread. Anyway I think you're able to use the cables that you're using now. Works fine for me.
