LOL! sure over pay for oil if you want to. I have always ran dyno oil in all my car, truck and bikes and never had an issue. If you want to use Syn oil then go for it, never really too earley.

You should be wanting to change the filter more than the oil since the filter is where all of the metal shavings/filings from your motor break in are being collected.

Which begs the question, how long do you guys run synthetic oil in your bikes? I would think you could stretch out the intervals over conventional oils thereby covering the added cost. I used to run red line synthetic in my big twin trans and it was a night and day difference in the shifting. Didn't notice much difference in the sporty though.

I would change the filter too. No sense leaving a dirty filter on with new fresh oil, IMO
I've ran Syn3 since after the first service, but will change to AMSOIL next having read all the glowing posts in it's quality....Ride safe guys

I used Amsoil in my 01 Fatboy 38K...runs great. Been hearing a lot about Royal Purple. Any users and is there a difference?

What AMSOil do you guys run in the primary? I've been running 20W-50 in the crank.
