Default New Seat Advice

Hello all, new to the forum. Been riding a Suzuki C50 for a few years and a couple of weeks ago a 2008 Sportster XL1200C fallowed me home. HD is such a bast to ride, like going from a mini van to a sports car.

Looking for some advice on a new seat. I like the Solo Springer seat but Can't find one that made to fit on the bike. Really don't want to modify the bike, might want to use the original seat from time to time. Any one know of a springer that will go on a sportster with a 4.5 gallon fuel tank?

Regards,

Larry

I have the same bike, and also am trying to decide. I have the sock seat, as well as a Sundowner. The Sundowner seems to push me forward a bit, which I do not like. I am 6', 1". It is much softer than the stock seat, which is good and offers some back support, but other than being softer, I think I like the stock seat better.
I am considering a custom seat from Rich's Custom Seats (Kingston,WA) www.richscustomseats.com For someone in NY, it is a bit scary as they cannot work with you on the bike, but will build any type seat you want, and will do so based upon your measurements.
I don't know what a "Springer" seat is. So now I have another thing to check out.
Good Luck,
Balloo

really depends on how far you will be riding... if more than a half hour or so, there is only one seat that i have found that really works- the wide mustang.
you can get the wide mustang without the +2 seat. +2 seat is on my bike - but the seat in the front is the one you want for long butt time (and hey- this is an 08 1200c too!!):
