Default SE II pipes - street legal??

Are SE II pipes considered street legal? Anyone know whether PA has any requirements for inspection that might be a problem with a set of SE II's installed? I noticed they weren't in the H-D catalog.

I think this has been talked about before and the conclusion was no one knows what "street legal" is defined as. I am not sure about PA. I can tell you they have "for off road use only" stamped on them. SEIIs were discountiued by HD early this year. This is why they are not in the catalog. You can still find some used SEII that trade on ebay, or some dealers may still have a new set if you can find it.

I don't know of any after market pipes that are "steet legal"... and if they are... chances are that they are similar to what you have anyway....

Why did they discontinue them anyways? The HD pipes don't sound half as good...

I believe PA is one of the stricter States when it comes to maximum db's allowed.

Might want to double check, but I think this is still current for the State;

"Pennsylvania Administrative Code Title 67, Part I, Subpart A, Article VII, Chapter 157, Subchapter B, Section 157.11, Paragraph a: Max A-weighted sound levels as measured at 50 feet: 84dBA at 35 mph or less; 88dBA above 35mph."

On the other extreme, the State is which I live has no acoustic requirements for mufflers, meaning any db level is legal.
