250 mile check in

guys so far so good with it, haven't been able to really hammer it yet
as i haven't hit the coveted 500 mile mark but i love the torque.
it feels like it could pull a house down, also even with the suspension upgrades i did to the nightster there is no comparison to the stock Dyna ride.

bumps that used to make me cringe now i don't even feel them, obviously its apples to oranges being 2 different class of bikes and the 125 miles i did Sunday i used to feel beat after doing that same ride on the nightster with the WG i felt i could go do another 125 without a problem......

while i miss the hell out of the nightster I'm glad i moved up and to top it off i got my new insurance card yesterday and my rates didn't go up for the bigger bike.

i will check in again at 500

Debate away. The Sportster 1200s are 8mph faster on the top end. The Big Twins top out at 118 due to lack of horsepower, the Nightster at 126 due to lack of RPM. This is verified by both magazine-tested data and personal experience, as I've owned both.

not going to debate with you because you claim personal experience and obviously didn't rely on what the speedometer showed.

where magazine data is concerned i stopped believing them a long time ago.... as you know there is too much variation from publication to publication.

before i bought my nightster i read many online magazine articles
one test that shows the nightster with a 110 MPH top end
another with a 115mph and yet another that said 120. never saw an article claiming 126mph but again every magazine test is different.

I do like the looks of the WG, but not sure I would get rid of my bikes for one, now a SG with a 103-maybe LOL!

Man it always comes down to the sportster is faster, does it really matter? The WG is a nice ride too. Buy a Ducati is you want fast and uncomfortable twin power.
